‘Spartacus’ shooting star Andy Whitfield has died [Updated]

Andy Whitfield, who appeared in the Starz duration play "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," has died, the network confirmed. Whitfield died Sunday of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in Sydney, Australia. He was 39. Whitfield appeared as the gladiator superstar in the essential time of the line series but stepped down from the lines before the second mellow because of his illness.p "We are deeply saddened by the collapse of our dear friend and colleague, Andy Whitfield," said Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht in a statement. p"We were fortuitous to have worked with Andy in 'Spartacus' and came to skilled in that the bloke who played a campaigner on-screen was also a champion in his own life. pAndy was an enlightenment to all of us as he faced this very personal battle with courage, mightiness and grace. pOur thoughts and prayers are with his household during this difficult time. pHe will lively on in the hearts of his family, friends and fans.
